
Villaricos, November 26, 2025.- The president of the Confederation of Andalusian Business Owners (CEA), Javier González de Lara y Sarria, has visited Deretil Group’s facilities in Villaricos, together with the general secretary of CEA, Luis Fernández-Palacios, and the general secretary of the Business Confederation of the province of Almeria, Encarnación Gil.
At the meeting, attendees were able to learn in detail about the company’s history with more than 60 years of industrial activity, 220 direct employees and 300 collaborators, as well as its strategic work in the production of Amoxicillin, Parahydroxy Methyl Esther, which is the side chain and other intermediate products for the production of beta-lactam antibiotics that are essential raw materials for the European health autonomy.
In the environmental field, Deretil underlined its active and constant collaboration with the Spanish Administration, stressing that they fully share the objectives of sustainability and protection of the environment. At the same time, the company pointed out that the application of regulations may be enforced with balanced technical and economic criteria, enabling industrial viability to maintain and guarantee the continuity of a strategic activity such as Deretil for Europe.
The management team had the opportunity to introduce to the president of the CEA its five-year strategic plan, conceived as a roadmap to consolidate the position of the Deretil Group in the international market.
The representatives of CEA and Asempal learned about the strength and diversity of the Group’s three divisions – Deretil, S.A., Deretil Agro and Deretil Nature –, underlining how each of them contributes in a complementary way to economic growth and to the positioning of the Deretil Group as a European benchmark with respect to innovation and industrial production.
In this sense, CEA and Asempal expressed their willingness to collaborate with the company, reinforcing the strategic importance of Deretil as an economic engine of the province of Almeria and a key player in Europe’s health autonomy.
After the working meeting, the president of CEA and the business delegation visited the main areas of the factory, the R+D Department, the amoxicillin production plant and the biological treatment plant, highlighting the qualifications of the research team and the role of the treatment plant as an example of sustainability and responsible management of the environment.
The delegation was received by José Cano García from the Board of Directors, together with Ignacio Yáñez Minondo, commercial director; Manuel Santiandreu López, R+D Director; and José Antonio Torres de Castro, Site Director, who accompanied the president of CEA on his first institutional visit to this strategic company in Andalusia and the European Union as a whole, which is the only one along with another located in Austria that produces amoxicillin.
